Tracy Rippy Heart Transplant Fund

Tracy is my stepdad. He has been at Vanderbilt hospital for 28 days now. Three weeks ago he had a heart pump put in. This pump will help the heart work til he can receive a heart transplant. Tracy is 48 yrs old and his heart only works 18%. The heart transplant is a Must. The doctors have told Tracy and my mom that the insurance will cover the surgery but not all the medicines needed. They have told us that we need an account set aside to cover the medicines before the surgery can take place. However we are on a time crunch. Once Tracy has had the pump for 3 months he will go to the top portion of the list. They are saying to expect a heart at anytime after that. One of the medicines that he will take after the surgery will cost $1200 a month after insurance. Another medicine he will be on for life will cost $300 a month after. This doesn't even include all the other medicines and doctor bills that he has. Vanderbilt has said we need to have $10,000 or as close as possible in this account. Tracy will be going to doctor appointments every week to prepare his immune system and body for this surgery. We have also been told once he has the surgery that he will have to at the hospital for 6 wks. Any help would be appreciated to help Tracy and my mom thru this time.
