My name is Witold and I am 32 years old.
From an early age, Medicine has always been number one priority in my vision of the future.
I have always felt that we, as humans, have an inborn desire to want to help others.Growing up amongst doctors, my passion has blossomed. I am beginning to understand, through my choice of studies and extra curricula.
In November 2016, I am embarking on a medical work experience placement in Tanzania with Gap Medics. During my two – week stay in East Africa, I will spend time shadowing doctors in a regional hospital in the Kilimanjaro Region. This experience will allow me to gain a deeper insight into my chosen career, and help me to understand the differences in healthcare provision around the globe. In my free time, I intend to immerse myself in the local culture, and learn about life in this part of the world. I will also have opportunity to spend some evenings volunteering at the local orphanage, giving something back to the local community.
In order to achieve my goal of traveling to Tanzania to take a part in this life-changing opportunity, I must first raise sufficient funds - £1860:
- 2 weeks medical placement £ 1100
- flights £ 500
- visa $ 250 - £ 190
- insurance - £ 70
The placement has to be paid in full by end of August,otherwise I won't be able to go.I am therefore asking for your help, if there is anything you could spare towards this trip I would be exceptionally grateful.
