Alexa's Recovery Fund

This story is about my brother, Chris, and his new wife, Alexa. They were just married in a beautiful ceremony in April. Unfortunately, two weeks after the wedding we received some bad news. Alexa went in for knee surgery and had a tumor taken out of her knee which was later diagnosed as round cell (myxomatous) liposarcoma.
Liposarcomas are relatively rare only affecting 2,000 people each year in the United States. Needless to say, they were scared but Alexa is one of the toughest and most positive people I have ever met. Recently, Alexa just finished the 2nd round of chemo on July 26th. In total, she will be receiving about 25 radiation treatments and 16 chemo treatments. The oncologist says on a scale of 1 -10, with 10 being the most potent, the potency of Alexa's treatment is a 10. My hope and prayers are for these treatments to work take her to the next positive level. Alexa keeps battling and continues to have a cheery disposition in the face of adversity.
Unfortunately, we all know that the costs of fighting cancer can add up quickly. The out of pocket expenses are high and the patient is not able to work because of the rigor and negative side effects of treatment.
My brother and Alexa did not ask me to fundraise for them. In fact, they were very hesitant when I told them I wanted to help. My brother has always been there for me and has always been a support that I have leaned on. I want to be able to help in whatever capacity I am able and this was the best way I could give back to both of them.
I am asking you all to help out in any amount possible. Anything and everything is appreciated and will help to ease the financial burden on a young, hard- working couple while they focus on helping our beloved, Alexa, win this battle.
