Baby Haven

At 9 months old Haven went for her regular check up. The doctors heard a murmur. Haven was then sent to Huntsville to a pediatric cardiologist for some test to be done. From there they noticed something wasn't right but the doctors couldn't quite figure out what it was. The doctors sent us to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for more test. That's when the nightmare began.
They found that her main artery wasn’t fully grown and it wasn’t connected which wasn’t allowing blood flow to the right side from her left. The next day they did a Cath to see how severe it was. They realized she needed immediate surgery. **What she had was Right Pulmonary Stenosis.** They went in and stretched the artery to allow blood flow.

Three months post surgery, they did another Cath to see how things were going. They still didn’t see any blood flow, so they gave it 3 more months. Which still turned the same results, No blood flow.
They put multiple balloons in to open the veins but they wouldn't stay open. They decided to try a stint. After that didn’t work, they then decided to do the second surgery. Which was to put a shunt in. Which afterwards, shown plenty of blood flow. Surgery went great, post op was great,... until now.
Two months post op she got sick, throwing up blood. We rushed her to the local ER. From there she was life flighted to Vanderbilt and put in the ICU. They did several Echos and realized her left side wasn’t getting the blood flow. It was putting pressure on her heart. Her heart was working and squeezing so hard but wasn’t getting any blood where it was desperately needed.
She wasn’t able to keep her Oxygen up. They decided to intubate her to put her on the vent. While they were doing that, they were also trying to draw fluid off her lung. Her body gave up. She went into Cardiac Arrest. Coded for 24 minutes. They had to preform CPR for those 24 minutes.
They got her on the ECMO (Life Support) and her heart wasn’t in the right rhythm. Her heart was giving up. They had to shock her to get her back.
She was on life support for 24 hrs. On to surgery again. They did a Cath to put stints in to allow blood flow to the left side. They also put two holes in her Atrium so no matter what she would get blood flow to both sides.
The Cath went good. The next morning she was taken off ECMO and did great coming off. They did a CT to check for brain damage and nothing major showed up. No signs of a stroke and  just some minor swelling as expected. Haven is still on the vent and it will be a couple of days before she’s off of it. They are weaning her off and she’s doing good with the numbers!

Richie, the father, is the soul provider for their family. Allowing Alyson, the mom, to stay home with their two beautiful girls. Right now Richie is missing a lot of work to be at the hospital for Haven while she is going through this and while she recovers.
We are unsure of how long she will be in the hospital at Vanderbilt, or how long her recovery process will be. We all know bills don't stop so every little bit will help them, tremendously!
God truly has little Haven wrapped in his arms, and our families as well through this tough time. Haven is such a strong and tough little fighter and we know she can pull through this. It will just take her some time.
Please do anything you can. A simple $5 donation puts us that much closer to the goal and will help greatly, Thank you!
