Bill Parker's - Brain Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Hello - my name is Ken Parker and I have a younger brother who has been battling brain cancer for over 5 years.  His name is Bill and he lives in Statesville, NC with his wife, Melanie and 16-year old daughter, Gabby.  In early 2011, Bill was diagnosed with a grade II, Astrocytoma brain tumor.  In March of that year, Duke Cancer Center completed a craniotomy to remove as much of the tumor as they possibly could.  Early results were extremely good and we were extremely excited that the operation went so well.  All of us, including Bill, managed to go back to a somewhat normal life, working and enjoying our family.  Bill was required to have MRI's done every few months to track his progress and the tumor remained fairly stable until early 2015.  At that time, we found through one of the MRI's, that the tumor had started to grow once again.  They started Bill on a chemotherapy regimen that lasted approximately a year.  Unfortunately, the chemotherapy was unsuccessful at holding back the growth of the tumor.  In March of this year, a biopsy was done on the newly developing portion of the tumor.  Unfortunately, and to all our dismay, Bill's tumor had progressed to a grade IV, Glioblastoma brain tumor.  This is the most aggressive type of brain cancer.  Bill was quickly referred to Wake Forest Baptist Cancer Center for a combination of chem0therapy and radiation therapy.  After six weeks of intense treatment, he was able to complete his treatment last month.  Both the biopsy and the radiation treatment have had a significantly detrimental effect on Bill's overall health.  He has developed hemiparesis (paralysis) on his entire left side, including his eyesight.  It is difficult for him to get around on his own and his family is working together to ensure he has around the clock attention.  The radiation has also affected his short-term memory and it is becoming difficult for him to continue working.  Any donations to Bill's "GoFundMe" account will be used to help pay doctor's bills, daily expenses, and ensure financial stability as Bill, Melanie, and Gabby fight this horrible disease.  Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to assist financially, we would greatly appreciate your prayers for Bill and his family.  Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
