Children of Kenya, 2013

In 6 weeks, I am going to embark on the most life changing experience ever. My name's Sandy Shergill I'm 18, from Vancouver and I will be volunteering with IVHQ for 3 months in Kenya. I will be working with the children in an orphanage for 2 months and then teaching in Masaai for another month. I'm so thrilled to be a part of this amazing opportunity.
Since making the decision to devote my summer to a completely worthwhile cause I have been working 2 jobs to reach my goals I'm also going to school full time. After pushing myself to the limit this is where I need YOUR help. With the last 6-week crunch here, I have been able to pay for all my travel and flight expenses but this experience was not made to be a vacation. The main purpose is to make a difference in these children's lives and to devote my time and effort to help with their success. This cannot be completed if I'm not able to provide them with at least some of the necessities we don't even think twice about in our daily lives.
It's easy! The money you donate will be put directly towards school supplies for these children's that will be distributed through my months working with them in both the school and orphanage. All you have to do is donate! I will then purchase paper pads, pencils, art supplies, hygiene items, crayons and so many other simple joys.
I can't stress enough how every dollar helps, with your donation you can be assured that this will make a difference as I will personally deliver the supplies and be able to witness the joy of the children who receive them.
