Help Stella visit her grandfather dying of cancer

What would you do if your grandfather was 19,000 kilometres away, on the other side of the world, but you couldn’t afford to see him one last time?
This is the situation that I am in at the moment. I’m a 19 year old student in the Netherlands, in my first year of Linguistics at Utrecht University. It has always been my dream to study in Europe and I finally got the chance. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this means that can no longer go home to New Zealand. New Zealand is quite an expensive place to travel to normally, but the pandemic has made it doubly hard, as the extra tests, and extra documentation total more than €2000.
Luckily, I have been able to waive some of these costs thanks to the New Zealand government, but I still cannot afford the actual flights.
The funds that you help to raise will go towards:
- Return flights from the Netherlands to New Zealand (€1,500)
- COVID tests needed to travel (€200)
- Places to stay while in New Zealand (approximately €500)
My grandfather is sick with Amyloidosis and has two months at most to live. He already isn’t able to move.
I am desperately asking for your help, as paying for this urgent trip by myself will take almost ALL of my life savings.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
