As many of you know, our dearest Annie and Nathan recently discovered that Annie is pregnant with identical twin boys: Emmett Alexander and Charles "Charlie" Augustine!
This wonderful new family is beginning to embark on an amazing adventure together, and, as their loved ones, we want to do everything we can to help them transition into this next incredible phase of their lives.
In an effort to show our support and love to Annie and Nathan, and to welcome Emmett and Charlie warmly into the world, Austin and I have set up this page. We want to make sure that family, friends, and even strangers (although, are you sure you haven't met Nathan yet?) are able to quickly, easily, and remotely give to Team Emmet & Charlie.
Pregnancies often bring about unexpected circumstances; births tend to generate unexpected expenses. Twins...well, you get the idea. :)
Moreover, we've learned that the boys have what is called Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. TTTS is a rare condition that affects only identical twins with at least 4,500 cases occurring in the U.S. every year. With this additional variable to consider, Annie and Nathan's needs, both financial and otherwise, are even greater, as are the many other unknowns that they will face together in the coming months.
