Hello everyone! I found a stray, female beagle at Astoria Park on Saturday March, 16th who is in need of medical attention and a loving home! She must have been lost for a while or possibly abandoned because she was in terrible condition when I found her(skinny, famished, extremely filthy, weak and sick). Judging from her teeth and eyes, she is about 8 years old. Her tail is always between her legs and she seems traumatized but has warmed up significantly since I took her in.
My friend Maria and I took her to Astoria Veternary Care and they said that aside from needing major dental work because her teeth are all infected and rotted and need to be removed, she has mammory tumors (not necessaritly cancerous). Her chest and abdomen x-rays came out fine and her organs are working properly. Her bloodwork also seems fine except for a low protein count, slight anemia, and high white blood cell count which is most likely do to the infection in her teeth.She is not spayed and seems to have had babies in the past. She has a bit of a limp because of her swollen front paw and is weak. She also has a runny nose but the doctors think it's due to her rotting teeth .She is on antibiotics for her cold and for her rotting teeth. Despite her ailments, she is sweet and full of love and deserves a loving home and tender loving care!
