#TeamLily fight against leukemia
Sweet Lily just turned 2!! She celebrated with all her cousins and friends. A week later she had a pretty serious cold. She just never really seemed to kick it. She'd spike periodic fevers and she started limping. Grabbing at her leg saying "hurt".
After a few trips to the ped Dr. a blood test was done, then a rush to the hospital, a bone marrow biopsy confirmed that our poor baby had ALL leukemia. She's the sweetest little girl and doesn't understand why this is happening. Our hearts are broken but we will stay strong and fight as a team, doing for Lily what she cannot do for herself.
Beginning last Tuesday, all who loved her had their lives turned upside down. Her 7-month-old sister, Scarlett who has been staying with grandma and aunts, and her loving friends and cousins who want to see her but cannot due to the infection risks.
After one week in the hospital, she has had dozens of tests, two procedures, and two chemotherapy treatments. This disease requires a LONG battle. We are looking at 2.5 to 3 years of treatment.
