Jason's Medical and Living Expenses

As most of you know, and for those who don't, my brother Jason was the victim of a hit and run accident on Saturday June 18, 2016- his 1 year wedding anniversary.  He was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance where he was admitted into a trauma unit for 3 long and agonizing days.  Being hit by the vehicle, Jason's injuries include 3 broken ribs, 2 fractured vertebrae, a severely bruised lung and road rash from head to toe.  He has since been discharged from the hospital, but is still in severe pain.  Given the injuries he incurred, we all realize it is going to be a long recovery process.  All of you who know Jason know that he is extremely hard-working, and doesn't like to ask for help.  We are setting up this gofundme account to help pay for Jason's medical bills, as well as living expenses for the next several months.  Jason's estimated recovery time is 4-6 months, and he is not expected to be able to work in that time.  The likelihood of holding the driver of the car responsible is extremely low, because the police are not conducting a thorough investigation at this time.  One officer was quoted as saying "This was just as much Jason's fault as it was the person who hit him since he was crossing the street and not on the sidewalk."  Needless to say, he's been done a huge injustice in many aspects and we as a family are doing all we can to show our love and support during this difficult time.  Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated, as will ongoing support.  Thank you to all family members and friends who have reached out with their never ending love, prayers and compassion.  It has not gone unnoticed.
