Hey familia, I'm not asking for a handout. I'm asking for help. I'm asking for a loan. Now unfortunately I've hit a stonewall with my finances for school. I have a $4700 hold on my Penn State account that is holding me back from taking class. As soon as I can clear out the hold and pay it in full, I will be able to go re-enroll for the spring semester. I've tried private loans to cover the hold but I've been denied after 5 inquiries. The deadline for enrollment for spring is January 6th. However, I can start that re-enrollment process in November if I get the hold cleared out. If I can get 15 people to put down $300, then I'll reach my goal. I'm trying to see where I can pull from to make this happen too.
With that, all of my financial aid, including my Post 9/11 GI bill, will then start dispersing over the course of the semester, starting in January. This means that according to my budget, including from my income, I should be able to pay that $4700 back in full by August 2019. I project knocking down the principle on a monthly basis from January through April at $800/mo, bringing it down to approximately $1500 by May of next year, and that's taking into account any hiccups or things going wrong. I can guarantee at least 50% of the loan paid back by May '19. From May through July we're looking at $500/mo to clear out that debt. In short, I will pay you all back with great help from veterans affairs and my GI bill as soon as possible.
I understand $4700 may seem like a lot in such a short amount of time. I'm just trying to get through college. I currently have a little over $10,000 in student debt as I approach the end here and this $4700 is holding me back. I have a repayment plan. I have a financial coach. I'm not asking you to pledge it all but please, if you can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
