Hi everyone it's me again...
I am running a 50k on March 23 in Augusta at the fairgrounds. I am grateful everyday that my body is strong enough and able to do this. I know that there will come a day when this won't be possible but until then, this is what I do and enjoy it. Along with that enjoyment, I know there are people struggling with so many things right now and I would like to put more of a purpose to me running in circles.
The son of a friend from high school was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer on January 25th at age 4 1/2 Matthew Augustine, was a smart, strong, healthy child up to this point.
January 29th, the primary tumor was removed in whole from his right adrenal gland.
February 9th, he began his first round of chemo - he will need to have 6 rounds of chemo between February and June followed by a bone marrow replacement using stem cell regeneration
The bone marrow regeneration is expected to take place summer 2013
He will require 6 months to a year of maintenance treatments after the bone marrow procedure, before he is declared in remission
