Help with Arlo’s Emergency Vet Bills

Hey everybody, I want to start off by saying I’ve never been comfortable asking for help, especially when it comes to money. However, I was encouraged by some very helpful friends of mine to reach out anyway, so here we are.
Arlo is the first pet I’ve ever had that’s been all mine- I bought him, raised him, paid for his food, catnip, toys, and now, veterinary bills. At only 3 and a half, he’s always been a very active, healthy, and sweet Maine Coon. However, last Thursday, he began presenting with labored breathing and lethargy.
An initial visit with our local vet resulted in a diagnosis of asthma, medications, and steroid shots. The next day, he was so much worse. Turns out, the vet visit had aggravated his true condition- hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The steroid shot had pushed him into congestive heart failure. He was kept at the emergency hospital overnight, receiving X-rays, O2, and medication. I was overjoyed when I received a call Saturday morning that he had improved and was finally independent of his O2 and ready to coke home. Unfortunately, the local vet visit and misdiagnosis, emergency vet overnight stay, and cardiologist followup totaled about $3000, alongside lifelong medications that I haven’t received the bill for yet.
As a university student paying my way through college (and sadly, no stimulus due to my age) this is obviously quite a financial blow.
I would never think to ask for $3000, or even 25 cents from anyone, but under extenuating circumstances I will do whatever I can. I would be grateful to earn even $1!
