Help Adam Kick Cancer

Hi, my name is Katie, and I am launching this page to help my brother Adam Cnossen. As you likely know, Adam had cancer surgery on his tongue on April 25, 2012. We celebrated his recovery and healing together until this past year when it became clear that cancer was back.

Adam is eagerly waiting for a surgery date and has an excellent surgeon who is in high demand. Adam does not have any benefits through work that can help him during this time, and he has had to stop work because of his pain. While he is off work, he is able to receive medical EI; however, the recovery time for this surgery will exceed the duration of EI payments (15 weeks). This surgery will require some bone to be taken from his leg to replace a portion of his jaw where they believe cancer has spread to. They will also replace the cancerous tongue flap with a portion of his arm. They estimate it will take four months for Adam to recover fully.

Funds raised will go towards significant medical expenses and the shortfall from his loss of salary while on EI medical leave (45% reduction in salary). We so appreciate your support. Together we can take care of Adam and help him kick cancer!
