CANCER PROGRESS UPDATE:
The first half of this year has been a whirlwind of events. It has come with emotional highs and lows for our family. Since I first discovered the possibility of cancer to the actual diagnosis and finally being able to start treatment the process has been tediously long, but God is so good!
Amidst Ryan's hectic schedule with youth this summer and swimming lessons for the girls, I transitioned into a new part time job to help pay for treatments. My parents were with us and were able to take care of the girls full time and we enjoyed a sweet visit with my brother and his family from Texas.
I'm working for a wonderful Christian doctor who is passionate about helping me get well by addressing the function of my autonomic nervous system. I started a portion of my other treatments this weekend and hope to receive the rest as God provides for us financially.
What do my treatments look like? After I received my blood test results the lab tested my CTCs (cancer cells) against several different substances to see which would induce apoptosis (kill the cancer cells). In turn my doctor produced my protocol using these same substances that were affective.
Many of the treatments are in pill form: I take pills each time I eat and I take 4 pills every waking hour. Late this morning I was hit with a bout of nausea driving home from church, very concerned I wouldn't make it home without having to pull over, but we laughed together and kept it lighthearted. My girls have been troopers helping me at home with anything I need.
What does the cost of treatments look like?
I have a total of three months of treatments before I have additional blood work to see how far my CTCs have diminished. My CTCs currently are at 3.8, remission is considered less than 1.

$4500 - Substance treatments
$1800 - Therapy treatments
$1997 - 12 months doctor appointments and cancer coach support
