Jessica Glasses for Independence

Donation protected
My name is Jessica Paradis, and I am a 29 year old mommy of 3. I  was born with Ocular Albinism, and I am legally blind. All of my life, I have been told that there were no glasses or surgery to help me and that I would never drive. God has blessed me though and made me adaptable. However, the one thing I long for the most is Independence. I want to take my kids to the park and be able to give them space to play and run off and know I can still see them. I want to go to eat and be able to read the menu on the wall without having to ask what it says. I want to be able to go to a new place that is large and be able to find a restroom without having to go up to every door before I find it. I want to see who is waving at me on the other side of the store when I hear them call my name. But most of all, I want to be able to drive. I am 29, and I have never been anywhere alone. I want to be able to run errands without inconveniencing someone else. I want to take my kids somewhere just us. I want to know that if there were an emergency I could take my kids straight to the doctor and not wait for a ride .
I never believed any of these things would ever be possible for me. This week I learned that thanks to the good Lord and advances in technology with the creation of bioptic glasses, I have the opportunity to be able to see and experience life and to be able to gain Independence through being able to drive . The glasses are called bioptic glasses and are designed by Dr. Henry Green and his company Ocutech. These glasses have been used by many others just like me in other states to be able to drive and now North Carolina has made it legal as well. I tried out the glasses and was fitted for them to see if I was a candidate, and with the bioptic glasses the eye that looks through the telescope piece went from legally blind to 20/20. Praise the Lord! Finding out this past month that my dreams of Independence could possibly become a reality has filled me with excitement and gratitude and abundant joy! Independence comes with a price though and as a single mom of 3 the glasses and the specialized driving classes come to a total that would take me forever to achieve on my own. I am reaching out with a humble heart asking that if there is anyone that would like to help me purchase these glasses and pay for this driving class that I would be forever grateful. The lives of myself and my children, and all those people that help me constantly with rides each would be forever changed by the gift of these glasses. I believe that God is always on time and even though I am 29 this may be God's perfect time to grant me Independence. I will praise Him for the sheer opportunity of it and for how I know He will provide. If you see it in your heart to give any, any amount helps, thank you! Thank you for investing in the lives of me and my children! I know God will bless you for your generosity!
