Our dad Mike was diagnosed with a blood cancer called Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) in April of this year. The form of MDS that he has is aggressive, but the good news is that there is a treatment option. He has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment to combat the cancerous cells, but will ultimately need a bone marrow transplant in hopes of curing his condition. This bone marrow transplant will need to take place out of state at UCLA medical center. Recently, our dad's hematologist informed him that he needs to go to UCLA and receive the bone marrow transplant sooner than expected because of the progression of his MDS even with the current chemotherapy treatment.
We are reaching out to you to help in any way you can to raise funds to help take care of mounting medical bills current and future, living expenses, and travel for getting treatment out of state.
None of us expect that cancer will hit so close to home, and then it happens. It happens quickly and out of no where. We would like our dad to focus on treatment and physical healing, and our mom to focus on care taking. Our dad is unable to work at this time, and our mom is working as hard as she can to keep up with the bills of life in addition to care taking responsibilities. Any financial assistance you can provide would help greatly to relieve them of the heavy financial burden a cancer diagnosis can take on a family.
In addition to any financial assistance you can provide, we ask that you place our dad and mom on your prayer lists, and provide them with words of encouragement when you can.
Thank you so much for your time, your support, and your donations. It means more to us that you will ever know!
