Milo is our three month old pug puppy, and he's very sick at the moment. Here is his story so far:
Milo picked up Kennel Cough from somewhere, and he was very unwell. He had a cough, runny nose, he was wheezing and just generally felt sorry for himself. We thought nothing of it as he had his medications, but the vet was worried and suggested he come in a week later after his medications had finished for a possible x-ray and scopes under anaesthetic.
We brought him in this morning, and the vet heard his cough for the first time - he thought it was severe enough to put him under the anaesthetics even at such a young age for the tests.
Milo has officially been diagnosed with Elongated Soft Palate (this is so severe it's making it very hard for him to breathe), Stenotic Nares and Everted Laryngeal Ventricles. He also has very inflammed tonsils from the struggle to breathe and the choking.
He needs surgery ASAP but because of how small he is we need to wait a few weeks unless he deteriorates further. He is struggling with his breathing a lot at the moment so we do think we may have to have surgery earlier than we would like.
This brings us to our reason for coming to you for help - our insurance company screwed us over and refuses to cover the treatment.
The surgery will be around £2000 and his examination today was £340. He may need medications and treatment after surgery, which will add to the cost. We will need to raise this over the next month or so - we don't have definite time frames as of yet.
His vet is Patrick from The Vet On Richmond Hill.
Milo is my life - he helps me cope with my anxiety and depression and means the absolute world to me and my partner. I have absolutely no idea what I would do without him, and I don't want to risk anything happening to him due to me not having the funds I need to get him treated properly.
