I'm not sure how many of you actually know that much about me. I'm Gail, and I'm from West Virginia. I grew up in Ohio, and pretty much lived most of my adult life just north of NYC. I decided to come home pretty much after I recognized that I was beginning to have similar autoimmune issues that my mom had passed from. To date I am on 21 medications, I've been diagnosed with a total of 10 different active autoimmune dissorders.
If you know anyone who has Lupus SLE, Raynaud's, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sögren's Syndrome, Hashimoto's, or Fibromyalgia, then you know that life isn't exactly easy... Add them all together with a few more and it's truly painful. Not to mention what it's beginning to do to my vision. I am presently waiting for a court hearing regarding my disability determination. Unfortunately, this can take up 2 years to be heard.
I've known a lot of you for a long time. I tend not to share, I tend to keep everything to myself. Here I find myself in a place where I just can't do that anymore. Here's why: The foundation on my house has caved in.
Yes, I'm safe for the time being. However, if I don't find a way to come up with nearly $8000, the city can and will condemn my home. The hospital have been keen to purchase the property in the neighborhood. However, they are especially interested due to a natural spring found at the corner of the property. There's no way they would buy it from me for value given the current situation. Besides, the house has been in the family for several generations. My mom grew up in this house. If I lose the house.... I have nowhere to go, which means I'll lose my furballs as well, memories , things I'll never be able to recover. I can't have that.
Any and all funds raised will be used to repair the 45 ft long footer, to build a brand new 45 ft foundation wall as well as fitting new drainage on the outer wall once this work has been completed. Obviously, there's an immediate need in order to get moving and to hire the right person for the job. My house is completely open even with the dogs I don't feel exactly safe. How can I?
