Help brave little girl Maisie to fight tumour

URGENT HELP NEEDED

Dear friends,

We are fundraising for a brave little girl Maisie from Bexhill-on-Sea, who is 10 years old. 

We would like to help her fight this battle with a rare type of tumour - Osteoblastoma. And to help Maisie and her parents through recovery after a very complicated surgery, which will take place on the 6th of March 2021 at Kings University Hospital in London.

Osteoblastoma is a tumour, where cells of the body have started doing things they shouldn't - like in Maisies case forming a tumour (mass) in one of her neck bones. The lump has crushed her c5 vertebrae in the neck leaving her in a neck brace and in excruciating pain.

The pain started only 3 weeks ago, at the beginning of February, which was thought to be just a pulled muscle. But shortly after a trip to A&E in Hastings, Maisie was blue lighted to Kings University Hospital in London.

The surgery would aim to remove as much of the tumour as possible. The surgeon doesn't think he will be able to get it all completely out as it has wrapped around some of her blood vessels that supply her brain. That will be the most complex part of the surgery.

Once the surgeon remove the tumour, he will reconstruct the destroyed bone using special prosthetics. A 'cage' as the pretend bone and 'plates' to keep it in place. 

They will probably do as one operation but perhaps 2. She will recover in the high dependency unit or intensive care unit. The recovery time is unknown at the moment.

The surgery is booked for 06.03.2021

Maisie is the most amazing girl, before now she has donated 15 inches of her hair to Little Princess Trust, made packs for a homeless charity, she was always involved in charitable activities.

Maisie is the most positive, smart and kind young lady ever. 

Any donations would be more than greatly appreciated, Maisie and her family will use the donations to stay in hotels near by the hospital in London, as they are over 2.5 hours away from their home, and also would help to ease the financial strain of any additional costs Maisie will need through recovery.
