Vince Ebner Medical Relief Fund

Hello, My name is Derrick Gilmore and this is a story about my father Vince Ebner. My dad is the hardest working man i've ever met he was always a great provider to me my mother and my siblings and always provided a great example to us on how to get out in the real world and make something of ourselves, it took me a little longer to grasp the message he was trying to relay and im sure i caused quite a few headaches until i figured it out (sorry dad). we had a very traumatic event occur on October 17, 2015, my father at age 55 had a stroke while he was watching his alma mater Ohio State play Penn State, luckily he was with my mother and a friend who were able to get him medical attention almost immediately at a near by hospital before he was transported to Grant Medical center. My dad has always been the rock of our family the foundation and support for all of us and to see him in a state of even minor weakness took everything out of me and i went from a 30 year man to 5 year old boy worrying about how his hero would come back from this. We were very lucky that he received the proper attention in the time frame that he did but suffer some imparments but you would never notice because that inner strength he's always had didnt faulter one bit. My dad made it through a lengthy hospital stay, weeks of physical and speech therapy as well and the realazation that he had a new "normal" way of life.  My parents would never be ones to take a handout and have been stronger than any two people ive ever seen in all my days however, all of the strength in the world can't help with the mounting medical bills they have received and in an even more unfortunateevent they were recently dropped from thir insurance provider as they beleive my dad had a "pre-existing condition" and the policy that was provided to them wouldnt have been if they had known that. I'm not going to hop on my soapbox and berate the people who are responsible for this decision however the words cruel and heartless come to mind. My parents are amazing people through and through but they need help, they dont know im starting this at this time but im reaching out to whoever will listen, freinds, family, and the kindness of strangers. All funds collected with go straight to medical bills and any additional funds will be donated the Grant Medical Center for stroke research to help others like my father who have ben afflicted with the same situation. My parents have helped me my entire life and im trying to do whatever i can to do the same any donation no matter how small will be greatly appriciated, thank you and i love you dad.
