My name is Ashli Giles-Perkins, I’m a 23 year old organizer and activist, and lifetime Bridgeport resident. And I have been selected to serve as a delegate to represent Connecticut’s 4th District at the Democratic National Convention. This is SUCH an honor and a privilege – but I need your help.
For the past year, I have been volunteering for Sen. Bernie Sander’s Presidential campaign. I traveled around New England in the snow and the rain to knock on doors and secure potential voters. I made phone calls to people all across the country. I tabled on the New Haven Green. I wore my Bernie button everywhere. I flooded my friend’s Facebook timelines with Bernie Sanders news and memes. I marched. I hosted a Honk-And-Wave on the New Haven-East Haven line in a busy intersection, stocked with signs, pamphlets, buttons, and bumper stickers for anyone who honked or stopped. I’ve been donating monthly to the campaign, usually $10 or whatever I could afford because I know every little bit helps.
Speaking of every little bit helps… that is where YOU come in. I need YOUR help in travelling to Philadelphia and staying there from July 25, through July 28th for the Democratic National convention.
PLEASE help me bring this enthusiasm and passion to Philly!! Help me show the elites and the establishment that WE WILL NOT QUIT! The status quo has kept us complacent, quiet, uninformed and disengaged long enough...
NO MORE! A political revolution has been brewing and the pot is ready to boil over! We CAN make this country work for ALL the people that live and work here, not just a FEW.**
This election is SO MUCH more than Bernie vs. Hillary, more than just me or you; it is ALL OF US, moving together towards a positive, prosperous, progressive future for this country that we all call home.
