We were moved about the crisis in Texas. We wanted to do something to help these folks.

Friday February 19th, at 5p, we decided to do something. We rented an SUV Saturday am and our first stop was at the local supermarket. We filled the car up as much as we could with 1500 bottles of water. We posted on our social media asking for people to help, which they did, BIG time. Halfway on our trip (passing through Phoenix), we'd raised over $5000 because of friends sharing and donating. That outpouring of support empowered us to think bigger, and switch up to a moving truck. Between Phoenix and Fort Sutton, Texas, we were able to load it with over 12,000lb. of water, food, blankets, and other supplies.  Hint Water even donated 1,800 bottles of water from their Dallas Distribution Center. Every dollar made a difference. Every case of water, every loaf of bread, every box of diapers. This is stuff we take for granted every day; running water, heat, and shelter.

We contacted both the Millennium Youth Complex and Austin District 1 Councilwoman Natasha Harper-Madison, who was running their distribution. As well as Austin Mutual Aid. Both organizations were thrilled with us, as supplies were running low.  We arrived in Austin on Monday with supplies, and everything was distributed by the work of those 3 organizations. Let's not forget about these volunteers-they are helping their community during a PANDEMIC. If that's not the definition of "heroes", I don't know what is.

Councilwoman Harper-Madison told us there was still a need, especially for supplies to fix the broken pipes. As we all know, a lot of people are dealing with burst pipes and flooding, as well as water damage. It may not be snowing, but they're still dealing with the devastation.  We'd like to see what we can do to help with those supplies, they've got a ton of repairs to make.

Every penny we raise will go to helping Austin (and any other part of Texas in need).

Please donate or share. We're proof that just getting up and finding a way to help, can snowball into something bigger! You can help anywhere, no matter what.
