It is with a heavy heart that we have learned Bailey has been diagnosed with pediatric cancer, more specifically, Neuroblastoma. This is a rare cancer, most commonly found in children under the age of two years old.
On Thursday, June 16th, doctors at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center found tumors on both sides of Bailey’s face and a tumor on his adrenal gland, connected to his kidney. They suspected the cancer had also moved into his bone marrow. On Friday, the tumors were confirmed to be cancer and their suspicions of it spreading to his bone marrow were also confirmed. On Monday, further testing confirmed the cancer had spread to additional parts of his little body and they officially diagnosed him with High Risk, Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Bailey has already begun chemotherapy and he is in for an extensive, extended treatment program, to include several weeks in Dartmouth and likely several weeks in Boston.
Mike and Allie are extremely grateful for all of the support and offerings they have received over the course of the last couple of days. In an effort to assist those wanting to help, a GoFundMe page for them has been created. Mike and Allie are the only two people that can access this account. The funds will be used exclusively to assist with travel and lodging expenses that have already begun.
