Ryan Boarman is an avid traveler and surfer from San Diego, California. On April 24, 2016, while traveling in Bali with friends, he was attacked by a shark while surfing. The shark bit through his right arm near the elbow, tearing through muscle, all the way to the bone, He was able to ride a wave back in, despite tremendous blood loss. His friends and many bystanders rushed to get him out of the water, stabilize him, and get him to a local hospital. He underwent hours of emergency surgery and they were able to save his arm. His family is now trying to get him to Singapore to see doctors in hopes that he will be able to regain full use of his arm in the future. All funds will be used to get him to Singapore and cover any medical expenses not covered by insurance. The medevac costs alone will total $31,000. All unused funds will be donated to local charites in Bali and charities to preserve our oceans -- something Ryan is very passionate about. We will post here if there are unused funds, alerting you to the charites Ryan selects.
Anything you can donate will be appreciated! More about Ryan:
