Family Business Destroyed By Fire

Our lives changed on June 17 when a 6 alarm fire destroyed our art studio, all our supplies, and trailer. We are third generation artist's who recently revived our family business creating one of a kind sculptures that capture and reflect the natural beauty of Florida’s sea life and the vistas of our southwest Florida community. We are brothers, Mike, Marc and Matt DeMichele. We have worked hard and seen our business grow in the last year and half. Operating as Nautical Sand Sculptures, we recently opened a store front in Venice, Florida. In the fire that occurred at our studio and warehouse facility at Cattleman and Palmer, we lost not only our livelihood, but our unique casts and one-of-kind artwork created by our grandmother Sue, over 30 years ago.

Our grandmother started the business in 1984 and still has an active role in creating the designs and teaching us the unique painting techniques we employ in our artwork. While some of these items are irreplaceable, we are determined to recreate and rebuild.

We are asking for any help that you can offer so that we can rebuild our business infrastructure, including the materials, casts, models, paint supplies, racks, and trailer.
Our business not only supports us, but is the sole source of income for our grandmother too. This is not just a business tragedy, but a family tragedy.
