As a teacher-missionary in Nicaragua, one of the things I value most is getting involved in the local community -- whether that be through playing on the worship team at church, hanging out with my host family, meeting my students for mentoring, or traveling in order to get to know the culture and land I'm living in. I was able to share a vehicle with other teachers last year, but I have recently moved in order to be more involved in Nicaraguan life and won't have access to the shared vehicle next year. While I could catch a taxi everywhere I wanted to go, that option is not the safest route and doesn't allow me to bless others by offering rides. So I'm invinting you to prayerfully consider partnering with me in my quest to become a Nica car owner!

Cars are expensive in Nicaragua! A used car in decent condition can range from $4000-$15000. Because parts can be hard to find for other makes, I would like to buy a Toyota, and because of the rugged conditions of Nica roads, I'm looking for an SUV. More space in vehicle also means I'll be able to be hospitable through transporting both students and North American visitors. I can expect to pay between $8000 and $9000 for this type of vehicle. 

My goal is to raise the necessary funds by the time I return to Nicaragua on June 30 in order to avoid international wiring fees. Thank you for considering supporting my work in Nicaragua in this way! I'm blessed by your partnership!
