Connecticut Police Foundation along with Connecticut Police Chiefs Association has committed
to sending 50 children from some of the state’s most economically challenged cities to the Ch. 3 Kids Camp this Summer. For many of these children, this will be the a rare, new opportunity to leave the city and get out to the country.
The children will spend the week participating in recreational and educational experiences while making
new friends and enjoying Summer camp - some for the very first time.
WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this happen!
Each Summer, police officers visit the camp for Law Enforcement Day. For many children, it’s the first
positive interaction they have with police. With help from Highland Park Market, members of the CT Police
Chiefs Association bring a cookout to the campers. They cook, serve and eat with the campers.
After lunch, campers get to climb in, under and all over the coolest (and safest) gear with their new friends
and build a stronger relationships with the youngest and most vulnerable of community.
While sitting on a motorcycle and blowing the siren loud, one camper told a police officer “This is the best
day of my life”. That’s when the Connecticut Police Foundation founded this effort to bring more kids to camp and help pay their way to attend.
Camp offers so many opportunities to each and every child. In addition to the traditional parts of a great
camp experience like swimming, arts and crafts and nature hikes, campers experience performing arts,
visual media arts, special guests and so much more.
To send one child to camp, it’s $500. Please consider making a donation of any amount to this effort and
share with your friends and family who would like contribute.
