Cookie's Rally Against Cancer

Donation protected
On December 16, 2015, our very dear friend & co-worker, Cookie Sacolles, was admitted to the Emergency Room and was later diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoma at age 33. Due to the cancer being so aggressive, and the tumor being so large, she had to undergo chemotherapy treatment(s) immediately. This terrible news came only a few days before Christmas and she has been out of work since then.

If you’ve met Cookie, you know that good things surely come in small packages. She is a high-energy firecracker & love bug with the biggest heart. She constantly makes everyone smile. She is the proud mother of 3 young children, Ceejay (15), Jaelyn (10), and Jovyn III (7). When her husband left the military in 2014, after honorably serving for 14 years, Cookie gladly became their main source of income so that he could focus on school.

Her Oncologist said that they are unable to perform surgery since the tumor is too close to her heart, and with radiation, she has a higher risk of getting Leukemia. Therefore, Cookie has to go to the hospital every 3 weeks to receive one week of chemotherapy which is expected to continue for 9 months. She has already lost the energy that she was known for, easily becomes out of breath, and her tiny body aches daily. When at home, she is bedridden and often uses a wheelchair. She simply doesn’t have the strength to get around. According to her husband, no matter how awful she feels, she always manages to put a smile on her face to let people know that she is okay. She even managed to chuckle after losing her beautiful hair, saying, “I don’t know how bald guys do it. It gets so cold at night.”

In January 2016, 1 month after she was diagnosed, Cookie wrote, “Do you know what the best part of life is? When your family understands you as a friend, and your friends support you as family.” She has always been there for her friends and family when they are in need. Now is the time to give her a helping hand. On behalf of Cookie, and her family, we would like to thank you for stopping by. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
