Kendra Brouwer

Kendra is currently on life support. She went to bed on Tuesday evening like any other night. Graeme woke up about 1:30 am because he heard her gasping for breath. He was unable to wake her and after hearing all the breath leave her body and her breathing stop, he started chest compressions and called 911. The police and EMT's arrived and shocked her heart back into rhythm and brought her to the hospital. She is currently on life support and intubated in the ICU at Sanford. They are undergoing multiple tests to figure out what happened to her. She has had a brain scan, heart scan, and angio that all came back normal. She did tell me in the beginning of her cancer testing that with all the testing they found an arrhythmia and heart abnormality at that time. It's possible (only speculation here) that this could have been part of the cause but the doctors aren't saying so yet and are still in the testing phase. They are cooling her body until Friday morning. This is sometimes done with anoxic brain events to preserve the brain and other organs in hopes that when she is warmed she will have her organs and brain functioning well. We will know more about how the tragic event effected her when they wake and warm her body on Friday.

She has continued to promote fitness, health, self care, family and strength through her journey. I'm not alone in being inspired by her life and her strength.
