Our brother Tou Va Vang, is the oldest son in our family. He is a funny, outspoken, and a very loving brother. The younger siblings look up to him in every way. He is the kind of person that loves to keep everyone laughing. Anyone who has ever come in contact with him knows what an energy ball he is.
Unfortunately, four years ago, he went for a regular doctor's visit and ended up in the emergency room where he was diagnosed with kidney failure. Since then, he has been doing dialysis daily, while he waits patiently for a donor. It has been a challenge for him. This past December he became really sick and had to be hospitalized for a month. Overtime the doctors had to switch his stomach dialysis to his chest, because of an infection (this was temporary). The doctors then were able to switch it over to his arm. He had to undergo more surgeries with these changes.
Touva's condition hasn't stopped his outlook on life. He was able to find love early last year. He has a loving woman who takes such great care of him and loves him with all that he comes with.
On June 8, 2017, Touva received an important call that he had been waiting 4 years for, "We have a donor for you." We all were filled with emotions as this meant that he would have a second chance at life. The transplant procedure was done the next day along with a challenging recovery. We all hope this will be a success and also hope he continues to live long with us and start his family and prosper in life.
These past four years along with the recent surgeries has taken a toll on our brother Touva both physically and financially.
