URGENT, Jackies Grandma Needs Help

Donation protected
Hello world,
My name is Joshua and my wife's name is Jackie.  Let me start with a little back story.  I first met my wife about three and half years ago, at the time she was working as a bank teller after finishing her first bachelor’s degree in micro/cellular biology.  She's the type of person that would drop what she was doing at a moment’s notice if someone needed help, never thinking of the impact on her and never asks for anything in return.

For as long as I’ve known my wife she’s always had a knack for helping people, it was something that came naturally to her.  She even got a minor in psychology to help with her sister who is autistic.  That’s why early on in our relationship when she expressed interest in starting a career in a medical field I was behind her 100% and I still am.  We talked it over and she decided that being an RN was probably the best course of action for her.  Right now she is half way through nursing school and working part time to cover her school costs so we don’t have to take out any additional loans.

Now to the meat of the problem, when I first met my wife she and her dad were taking care of her 93 year old grandmother who lived on her own at an independent living facility and has dementia .  They split up her care about 50/50.  If you know anyone with dementia you know there are good days and bad days.  Unfortunately on the bad days her grandmother can get extremely nasty, which we know it’s the disease and not her.  On the good days she is one of the sweetest people you can meet.  She likes to talk about life when she was a little girl and lately how crazy this man on TV named Donald Trump is.  Unfortunately about 2 years ago my wife’s dad decided he had enough and couldn’t handle the bad days anymore and left my wife to completely care for her grandmother.

She has done an amazing job, but it’s starting to become too much.  Her grandmother is now 95 and was just released from the hospital where she had a heart attack.  The doctors were telling us that we should start planning for the end.  She is now unable to live on her own and needs more care than my wife can give her.  We found this nice little private care home which we are moving her into which will provide the care she needs and will allow my wife to spend quality time with her grandmother without having to act as caregiver first and granddaughter second.  They require a $3,500 deposit on top of the first month’s rent/expenses which is another $3,500.  Also since she is breaking her lease at her current residence they require one month’s rent of $3,200 as a lease break fee.  This all comes out to $10,200 which her grandmother can’t afford which is why I’m on here.

We would try to help her out but on the 10th of August my car rear-ended and was totaled on my way to work.  So now we have to try to afford a new car.  As of right now I’ll probably have to take out a second job to help cover the added expenses but I’d gladly do it to relax the burden on my wife.  She does so much and always gets the short end of the stick.  I want her to be able to enjoy the remaining time she has with her grandmother and excel in her last half of nursing school without having to worry about where the money is going to come from.

We are asking for up $20,000 but anything would help right now.  The money will be used to cover the $10,200 in relocation expenses for my wife’s grandmother as well as any burial expenses once that time should come.  Anything extra would go to help soften the cost of my wife’s nursing school.

My wife and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you could give.
