Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. Elliot was born on November 6th, 2020 at 35 weeks, premature. He was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Tetralogy denotes 4 parts. So Elliot  has a combination of 4 different heart defects.  The 4 different heart defects include Pulmonary Stenosis, Overriding Aorta, Ventricular septal defect (VSD), and Right Ventricular Hypertrophy. What this all  means is that Elliot's unoxygenated blood gets shunted past his lungs and is circulating without being oxygenated by the lungs. Which means there is an increased workload on his heart. This condition can be treated medically for awhile, but will ultimately require surgical intervention at some point early in life.  Elliot's heart has been monitored closely starting in the womb. After he was born he spent some time in NICU in CentraCare in Saint Cloud. He was discharged on Dec 6th, 2020, after spending 30 days there. Elliot was sent home on some medications to help him thrive and grow. Kristy has been home with Elliot since with the help of his older two siblings, Mya and Gabe, and Dad, Josh. Elliot was doing well, until he had TET spell on January 29, 2021. Josh and Kristy brought Elliot to the ER and it was decided that he be transferred to the University of Minnesota Masonic Childrens. He was admitted that evening. In explanation of TET spell, Elliot had an episode of severe hypoxia and cyanosis. During a spell, blood from the right ventricle flows across the defect in Elliot's interventricular septum, bypassing the pulmonary artery and lungs, thus depriving Elliot of oxygen. Any donations received will be used for Elliot's medical expenses and also donated to the Gorecki Guest House in Saint Cloud and to the Ronal McDonald House Children's Minneapolis to support families in need of a place to stay while their child is in the hospital.
