Support our Transgender Child!

My name is Heidi Winn Bousquet.
In May, my beautiful 13-year-old daughter, Emily called my husband and I from the hospital  where she had been in for suicidal depession and told us that she had come to clarity: She was a boy inside, and wanted to be called Finn. From that day forward, she stopped wanting to leave the planet. We offered our love and support in finding her clarity. We felt that she could be a boy, a girl, or a pineapple...it didn't matter to us; we just love our child and want the best for this very special person.

Finn has spent the last year grappling with his place on the earth. He has managed his distress by repeated attempts to self-harm, resulting in multiple emergency room visits and hospitalizations. He is currently in a psychiatric residential facility. Finn has been gripped with anxiety, depression, and social phobia.

In addition to doing everything the doctors and modern medicine have to offer, my husband and I have tried homeopathy, energy healing, light therapy, art therapy, even taking him to the ocean for several weeks to try to restore balance in his emotional and mental state. From his astrological chart it is clear that this is a spiritual crisis which requires alternative treatments.

This is not a child with any history of mental illness. He is a bright, lively child, a magnificent artist, who has been actively involved with extracurricular activities such as Destination Imagination, going to global championships in  Knoxville, TN.  Since age five he has enjoyed and thrived in the supportive and nourishing environment that the community  we live in offers.

Recently he escaped from his residential facility, ran through the forest to the river, went into a river, where the current rapidly took him towards the dam. As he was running, he saw the river. He said the medications that he has to take make him feel so emotionally flat that he wanted to feel something, so he jumped into the river. He had no idea that the current was so quick and began to panic as it took him towards the dam waterfalls. He fortunately was rescued and brought to the ER, where he was medically cleared. He said he ran away because he was homesick and wanted to come home.

We have been through a lot this past year, but this last episode threw us into shock and made us realize that we had to take bigger action to support Finn's life.

Finn is an incredible and magical being  who has much to offer our community and the planet. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to heal his body, mind, and spirit.  Will you  support Finn in this effort?
