George Fredericks' Medical Fund

As of the first week of March 2013, George had found a bone marrow donor match and was headed to the hospital for 2 weeks before the transplant could take place. He will be in the hospital for approximately a month. He is expected to then move to a care lodge for another 70 days before being eligible to return home. Needless to say, the bills from his medical care will be formidable, not to mention the travel and ancillary expenses that go with it and the fact that he is out of work for several months. 

Those of us in his community have organized this drive with a goal to raise $1000/week for the next six months to support his family while he undergoes chemo and the bone-marrow transplant. His employer has pledged to contribute one-third of the money each week. His co-workers, family, and close friends will work to contribute another third of the goal. We are looking to the community to donate the remaining third ($333/week) every week for the next six months! Over six months, this is a goal of about $9000 for a total donation to his family of $27,000. With *weekly* pledges of $5 or $10 or $20 per person, this should be quite do-able. 

In your generosity and kindness, please consider making a lump sum donation or making small, ongoing contributions each week or each month. There is no minimum donation (we'll take $1!) and no maximum. If you are unable to contribute financially, please spread the word to others who may be able to and please keep George in your prayers.
