The Klop Family, (Joanne Klop)

April 15, 2016.
Joanne Klop, 17 year old daughter, sister, cousin, and friend to many ended up in a horrible sudden car accident. The accident took place on the gravel dike north of the Agassiz/Rosedale bridge. How the accident happened we don’t know but that is not what we are here for.

Joanne fell into coma and got airlifted to Royal Columbia Hospital where she was examined immediately. Doctors gave her parents two choices; one, let her pass away naturally, two, do an operation and remove the right side of her skull to allow more room for brain swelling. This operation gave her only 5% chance to live, but I think that naturally anybody would choose life even if it is such a low percent.
During operation they saw a few small aneurisms in her brain and brain stem. She hit her forehead very hard which fractured her bones around her right eye. But the rest of her body remained fine. However, she has brain damage but at such an early state we don’t know how severe.  She survived the operation and is now on the road to recovery. We don’t know how long this road can be or what the outcome will be, that all clearly lies in God’s hands and we cannot change that.

A few days after the operation she is now able to regulate her own body temperature and her brain fluid pressure has been 18 and has now gone down to 10. She is off of sedation and seems to be responding to neurological exams by her vitals.
The swelling in her eyes has gone down and they can both be opened now so they did a check for eye activity or pupil dilation, however, her eyes still appear to be dead and they suspect blindness.

The Doctor’s suspect she will be severely handicapt for life, however a miracle can happen and we will hope for much more. We continue to pray for her and thank God for sparing her life so far and we pray he will spare her life for many years to come.

We are here looking for donations to support the loss of income for the family, school tuitions, food, possibly medical expenses and however the donations can be properly used.

Thank you for your support and may God bless your generous donations to the family as they go through this difficult time.

This page will be updated as time goes on.
