Surgery for Sweetpea Sunday

My name is Leah and together with my friend Wizzy, we established Rural Outback Animal Rescue (ROAR), from Cobar NSW.  Primarily we rescue the dogs from the local pound that are due for euthanasia, however, we rescued this beautiful dog one Sunday who had been abandoned in the bush, in the middle of summer with 40 plus degree heat. Reports suggest she had been there for a few days, with no water or food, and she was terrified. It took six of us, 6 hours to catch her to bring her to safety, then weeks of getting her healthy and happy. We then sent her on to a city rescue, only to be told a few weeks later that she was not safe. We spent $620 of our donation money to fly her home to us. We then took her to the vet as she was limping badly, and were told that she had a previous cruciate ligament injury which had been exacibated and causing her a great deal of pain. The options are to operate or put her to sleep as she would live a life in pain without the surgery. Of course we have chosen to operate, but it will cost $2000-$4000 for the surgery. Sweetpea Sunday is a beautiful, loving dog who deserves to have a wonderful life. She has had it tough but we are going to make sure she has everything she deserves for the future. We are a very small organisation with very little money, relying solely on donations. Any amount of money put towards our cause would be so much appreciated.
