My daughter Jillian Reed has been ill for 3 years with liver failure. She currently lives in Wheaton MD, and I (mom) live in North Carolina. On June 23, 2016 she was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital with stage end 4 liver failure. While waiting for a liver donor, on July 2, 2016 she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest. Jillian spent weeks in an induced coma facing mulitple complications ranging from low blood pressure, afib heart, infections, pneumonia, respiratory failure, dialysis due to kidney failure, malnutrition, and many fevers. After 5 excruciating weeks she now needed a kidney as well as a liver. My many thanks to everyone for your love and prayers. We have been heard!!!
On August 5, 2016 the surgical team found a window to transplant the organs. She is our miracle and will not stop fighting. We are back in ICU, but now facing the road to recovery ahead. It will be a long, hard road for her and our family.
I have been by her side for 6 weeks now. Unfortunately I am struggling financially to pay my bills. It is imperative I remain here for support and her recovery. That is why I am asking for donations to continue my stay. Any denomination will be greatly appreciated and never forgotten.
Thank you,
Caterina Miano
