In December 2019, our bestie of over fifteen years Kathryn Byer, was diagnosed with late stage cervical cancer at age thirty-one.
Since her diagnosis she has been through chemotherapy and radiation. The treatments have left her with extreme physical pain, kidney failure, countless trips to the ER, several blood transfusions, edema and many other unexplained side effects. What it didn't leave her with is a broken heart, a desire to give up or a bad attitude. She has the most positive and inspirational spirit and fighting strength a human could possibly have.
Nearly one year later to the date, on Christmas eve of 2020, Kathryn was told her cancer has metastasized and travelled to her lungs. She was ordered to begin her second round of chemotherapy as soon as possible, though this time around she was told it is not curable.
We want to come together as a community to help Kathryn and her five year old daughter Zoey feel loved and supported in anyway we can. By raising money we hope to help them get through these tough times by making mealtimes a little easier, hiring a house cleaner or filling her gas tank for the daily commute to Vancouver to receive her hyperbaric oxygen treatments.

**Update: A HUUUGE THANKYOU!!! To everybody that has donated and sent lovely messages and support, we are totally blown away and SO grateful for your generosity and love for our best friend!! We surpassed our original goal of $5,000 (4x over!!!)in just a few days! We have now set our sights a bit higher so everybody knows they still have a chance to give!
