<div>Con tan solo 6 añitos acumula muchos más hospitales y cirugías de las que nadie desearía. Y es que los problemas respiratorios son recurrentes…pero además sufre de afectación neurológica, ceguera de un ojito, dificultad en la marcha y en la alimentación (necesitando un botón gástrico)

<div>En 2016 dos investigadores lograron identificar la causa del síndrome de Menke-Hennekam: una variante genética en el gen CREBBP o EP300.

<div>Su reciente descubrimiento ha supuesto un faro de esperanza para estas familias, pero también el azote de las consideradas enfermedades ultra-raras: la falta de financiación en la investigación.

<div>Son muy activistas! Están en contacto con la doctora Leonie Menke (quien descubrió junto a Hennekam esta condición) y actualmente participando en un estudio científico que combina el material genético de Claudia y el de su mamá Georgina.

<div>La finalidad es probar diferentes parámetros de mejora en esas células modificadas y además obtener fármacos que logren revertir ciertas anomalías.

<div>Pero es costoso. MUCHO. También las terapias físicas y materiales para sobrellevar la cotidianidad con una discapacidad severa.
