Memorial for Coach Aaron Flores

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Coach Aaron Flores.  Aaron along with Kristen, Ryann and with his father Sid, were diagnosed with COVID-19 in mid December.  His symptoms progressed, and on December 21st Aaron was flown to the Omaha hospital where he received his double lung transplant so his transplant team could care for him.  Once again, Aaron was forced to fight for his future with everything that he had.  On January 3rd, two days after his 50th birthday, he was put on a ventilator.  Despite his condition remaining relatively stable and optimism from his transplant team,  Aaron passed away on the morning of Friday, January 15, 2021.

I know this is devastating news to the community of Coffeyville, Coffeyville Community College, Butler Community College,  Olathe South and Olathe North alumni/families and anyone who had the pleasure to cross paths or be coached by Aaron.  Details about services will be shared when known.  Friends and family plan to hold a Memorial Golf tournament when circumstances permit to celebrate Aaron's life with one of his favorite activities.

Aaron loved his family more than anything.  His number one priority was always wanting to make sure that Kristen, Ryann and Haley were taken care of.  This memorial fund will help with medical bills, funeral costs, living expenses, college funds for the girls....and by popular demand, making sure this family gets to have a trip that does not include a hospital.

Thank you all for the love and support that you have given and continue to provide for the Flores family.  Aaron was so grateful and continually touched and amazed by the love and outpouring before, during, and after his transplant.  Rest In Peace, Coach.  Our hearts are hurting but we know that you are breathing freely and smiling with love on us all.

Aaron's father, Sid, is still in the hospital in Coffeyville, KS.  He is out of the ICU now but is still battling pneumonia.  He was able to have visitors for the first time yesterday and we hope and pray that he continues to improve each day.
