Anyone who knows my Mom knows that she is a trooper. She has always done all that she could to give my brother and I the best life possible. She would never hesitate to go out of her way! She has dedicated her entire adult life to making other people happy. She has worked 3 jobs for my entire adult life.

4 and a half months ago we found out that my mom had stage 3 lung cancer. She had a blood clot in her neck and while scanning it, they discovered she had leisions on her right lung. They started radiation hoping that they could shrink the mass and then do surgery. Half way through the radiation treatment the Dr's realized surgery wasn't going to be an option and they stared Chemo. Since the radiation was all centered on her upper right chest area, her throat was burnt to the point of large blisters inside her lower throat.

At the end of February all her treatments ended and we hoped that her throat would improve and she would be able to eat solid food (and keep it down since the chemo and phlegm was causing her to vomit all the time).

Two weeks ago her potassium and magnesium levels were so low that her skin was tinted yellow, she had no strength and couldn't care for her self. I drove her to the ER in Glendale and they immediately admitted her. She was in the ER for 4 days until they took her over to a rehabilitation center in Burbank.

A week ago we found out the cancer had spread to 3 more tumors inside her lung. This means her stage 3 lung cancer is now stage 4 and there is almost no chance of remission.

As of today (3/8/2013) she is still in the center for assistance with an IV feeder so her throat can heal as well oxygen for her short breath.

Up until 3 weeks ago my mom has been working two jobs because she loves what she does and who she works with, Those of you that know her know exactly what I mean. Since she has been out of work for over 3 weeks now her main worry is about her bills. I don't want her to worry about her bills! I want her to live the rest her life happily and comfortably. She plans to go back to work believe it or not when she feels better. That why our goal is $10,000. We are hoping we can raise enough to carry her through the next few months while she heals.

If all of my Facebook friends were able to donate $1, we would hit our goal! I guess now is the time to test the power of social media. If you know my mom you know she would never ask for anything like this. She deserves it though and I hope it helps to calm her nerves so she can rest and repair!

Her license plate on her car says "I PAY FRWD" it's time for it to come back to her!

Please help if you can.

Jeff

UPDATE: Mom came home last night (3/10/2012) and is working to get her strength back. She is still on oxygen and will be recovering for a while. We increased the goal with hopes that she can take as long as she needs to repair herself.
She is so grateful of all the well wishes and support! We will make a video in a day or two so she can say hi to everyone.
