Help Chloris Secure Housing for Her and Her Son!

Hi! I’m fundraising for my friend Chloris, who is a Black mother facing homelessness. Please share this fundraiser, it goes a long way!! She is a domestic assault survivor currently unhoused with her son in Richmond, VA. I met Chloris on Venmo, after seeing a post with her name and situation, and sending her some money my friends and I put together. After talking to her, it’s clear her situation is much more urgent than a few small Venmo transactions. She is struggling to stay in a bug-ridden motel in Richmond, VA, and can’t spare money on other essentials like toiletry and other hygiene products. Please donate what you can and share to help her secure safe and permanent housing and to help her provide for her son. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a record number of people to become unhoused by eviction due to income loss. Because of this, Chloris has been put on a long waiting list for every homeless service I have been able to find in Richmond. In the middle of a deadly pandemic, there is an unprecedented number if unhoused people in America, all of whom are being turned away and left to suffer by our government. Safe shelter is a human right. She has opted for me not to share photos or videos of her or her son to protect her privacy. Please donate and/or share, if I’ve learned anything in the last year, it’s that human compassion and empathy can solve a lot of problems if we allow ourselves to use them.
