James' Interlochen Tuition

Trumpeter James Alleva, 6th grade student at West Frederick Middle School received a partial Merit Scholarship to attend Michigan
Interlochen Center for the Arts with some of the best 6 – 9th grade instrumentalists in the country. The Tuition for the camp is $5,500 and with the partial scholarship he received he still needs to raise $3,700 for his tuition. The deadline for his tuition is April 14th.
Interlochen elite musical instruction would give James unparallel music education. James has been working on his gift for the last 3 years and during this short time he has compiled an impressive resume.
His first concert season was with the Frederick Regional Youth Orchestra performing with the top high school students in the county as a 5th grader. James also performed with musicians twice his age at The Montgomery College Jazz Ensemble and Hood College Jazz Ensemble. During the summer of 2015, James was accepted to attend the Blues Alley Jazz Camp with Jazz Icon Michael Bowie.
This year he is currently the Assistant Principal Trumpeter performing with the Baltimore Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra (BYSCO) and The Maryland Classical Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYCSO) as well as returned for his second year with The Montgomery College Jazz Ensemble. He has been mentored for the last two years by Andrew Balio, The Principal Trumpeter of the BSO.
James has performed at professional events, most notably, the NBA’s Washington Wizards Halftime Show with Season 6 Winner of America’s Got Talent, Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals and the Baltimore Orioles. James has solo performed at numerous prestigious events and venues, such as at; The Special Olympics, ‘Tour de Cure’ American Diabetes Association, George Washington’s tomb, WWII Memorial, the Embassy of the Philippines, The D.C., Baltimore and Frederick Valley’s of the Scottish Rite Temple’s of Freemasonry and the 84th Anniversary of ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ at Fort McHenry on National Anthem Day, Flag Day and Fourth of July with the Navy Band.
