When people get married, it's traditionally a time when the community shows support and generosity by giving gifts. We feel that in having each other, we already have the greatest gift we could ask for (awwww, but it's true!). Therefore, we are asking you, our community, to help us share the love outward.
Instead of wedding gifts, we're hoping to collect donations for three charities close to our hearts -- the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre, Men's Trauma Centre and First Peoples' Cultural Foundation. By making donations here, you'll be coming together with us to spread some goodness to others in our local community who could use it to get stronger either in overcoming painful experiences or in building up threatened languages, arts and culture.
Our wedding is July 30, 2016, and we will gratefully accept donations until August 5, when we come back from our honeymoon. We hope you'll help us in expressing support, hope and happiness not just for our new life together but for people around us who also deserve some of that amazing love. Sharing your generosity this way will help make our hearts even fuller. <3
