SafeSpace Needs Help to Pay the Rent!

SafeSpace needs your help! We’re a London Ontario based non-binary and women only support centre that offers services to all women in crisis with an emphasis on women in the sex-trade for over ten years. The majority of sex-work done in the neighborhood we operate in is what we call “survivalist” sex-work. That is, sex-work that is done because of dire circumstances. We recognize a woman's right to choose or refuse sex work and we work to educate the public about sex work in London as well as promoting the decriminalization of sex work. Our centre is both volunteer-run and operates under a compassionate harm-reduction mandate. This means that we offer harm-reduction supplies such as clean needles, clean pipes, condoms, and other safe sex and drug-use materials. In addition, we offer HIV and STI educational resources, cosmetics, clothes, hygienic goods, first aid, and information about support services to those in need.
In addition to providing material resources to women in crisis with an emphasis on sex workers, Safe Space is a visible and passionate social justice presence in London. SafeSpace is a regular presence at Feminist Fairs, Pride, and marches throughout London, advocating for bodily-autonomy and sex work decriminalization. While our online presence provides London-based information on sex work and missing persons.

Recently, one of our monthly donors unfortunately stopped being able to assist us. So, we’re now asking for help to cover our rent! By donating and sharing our fundraiser, you can help us continue to help women in crisis and to be a voice for the decriminalization of sex work! SafeSpace maintaining our physical location is crucial for continuing to support women in crisis. Our centre acts as a meeting place for those in crisis to receive compassionate assistance and donations.
