Tripod Ted's Amputation

Donation protected
On the afternoon of 6/9 Ted got entirely way to excited that I was home and he jumped off the arm of the couch. He landed and broke his front leg. The break happened at the shoulder which means we are unable to put him in a cast. Based on his x-ray there has been some bone loss and degradation which means a surgery to plate the bones back together is out. The only option is to amputate. We tried to get funding from a local non-profit that gives grants for emergency medical care but they denied us because their vets think the break happened because of bone cancer.

So our options with Ted are limited. Amputation is the treatment for bone cancer because bone cancer is very painful, it will also take care of his break. From there, the leg will be sent out for a biopsy to see if it is cancer or not. The amputation and biopsy will cost $2,100.00.

Our family is facing hard times. I work part time as a free-lance bookkeeper and a dog walker/pet sitter. I am trying to get more clients, but as of now I only work part time. Jonathan (Ted's daddy) had his hours cut to 10 hours per week and is currently looking for employment. We are ourselves are on Medical and are in the process of getting CalFresh. We can choose to pay our rent or pay for our dog to have his surgery.

Ted is much more than a dog. He is our fur son. He is the most loving dog you will ever meet. Please help us keep our fur son.
