Denise Ahern End of Life Care

She's always been kind, smart, loyal, and talented. She was an amazing artist and poet, she was a substitute for the EPISD for over 30 years, and recently added to her Masters in English Literature with a certificate in Computer Graphics / Commercial Art in December 2019. 

In February 2020, she was diagnosed with Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), an aggressive form of breast cancer that tends to be more difficult to treat. After almost a year of treatment, including chemo and radiation, the cancer has spread to her brain and liver, is beginning to cause organ failure, and as such Denise has been moved to Hospice for end of life care. 

We've been very blessed to have had resources to use for Denise's care so far, but now with funeral arrangements and final medical bills to take care of, we've decided to reach out to our family and friends for help. 

These funds will mostly go toward funeral expenses and any extra would take care of medical and life things. We're starting a bit low because the end of life portion of this journey has actually come about very quickly, and though she had cancer for about a year, this end was a bit unexpected. We may raise the goal as we go, but we're happy to update as to why and what for once we're more certain.
