Jessica’s Fight

Hello everyone it’s a new year! We are all ready to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021. Jessica Mackey is too, but unfortunately some of the problems she found in 2020 aren’t that easy to say goodbye too. She is a single mother to 3 beautiful girls and the sole provider to the 2 younger ones. In the fall of 2020 Jessica Mackey began to have some abnormal health issues and went to see her doctor from that appointment the doctor decided to screen her for cancer. Yikes the C word! A word nobody wants to hear especially during a pandemic. The results came back positive Jessica found out she had Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma stage 3B. She had to start very high dosages of chemo almost immediately. She continued to try to work as manger of a business that deals with with public even though her immune system was going to be compromised. The business she works for is a local pharmacy she’s always been the one helping others while they are sick or in need health items. Some are wondering why can’t she take the time off? Because she has 3 beautiful girls that she is a single mother of one of them has graduated and moved out, but the other 2 she is their ONLY provider she can’t take time off they still have to have their needs met. So she has had a few of her treatments and we thought it was going ok they made her a little sick but she still continued to go in to work in between even tho part time it was still something. She had another treatment 2 weeks ago and a few days after she became unable to keep anything down. She went into the hospital thinking they were going to adjust her nausea meds give her some IV fluids and send her home. Unfortunately nothing seems to be helping her hold her food down so she has been in the hospital over a week now. Still being treated for extreme nausea and dehydration. She was already falling behind on her bills and has applied for assistance unfortunately most assistance at this time is for people out of work because of COVID-19 directly so we’ve not had any assistance programs help her yet. The money we are raising will go for mostly her rent along with utilities and gas in the car to get the family to the places they still need to go like doctor appointments. I know there are many people struggling at this time if you can spare even a little it would still help but most of all Jessica is wanting as many prayers and good vibes she can get while going through this scary time in her life. Please Pray for her strength and patience as the doctors try to find a good combination of medication help her fight this ugly monster. Also pray for her girls as they are right there in her fight with her. I know this was a long post but thank you for reading Jessica’s story of you could take a moment and say a prayer and please share this so we can help Jessica’s Fight with easing some of these burdens so she has a little less stress durning her battle.
